Hello and good luckDear Jessica, it was great visiting your website Patrick had told us about [I''m Patrick''s mother]. Although at first I didn''t remember you from your name, one look at the Westerford group picture was enough to remind me of the young boy with the most beautiful, but sad, eyes and the "divine" features! Hope your operation was successful (and the - physical - pain is slowly easing!)! Wishing you good luck with all that''s lying ahead. One thing that struck me as "funny" [although, thinking about it, I might understand] is that in your schedule the surgery on 08 February 2008 is listed under importance as "Normal"! Well, is it really? ... I thought it would be a very important "highlight" (another "birthday" to celebrate each year???). Much love, happiness and success birga

Just wanted to say what a great story this is- while I am very happy as a woman, and always have been, it''s uplifting to hear such an intelligently written selfless story of approaching this difficult subject. Congratulations, and I hope that the next few weeks bring you nothing but joy and contentment :).

hey...Hello Jessica, pretty name by the way. My name is Brianna, I am a post operative trans woman (1.5 yrs). I monitor the Trinidad thread sometimes and stumbled upon your link within. I am a Marci girl as you will be soon. She is masterful at her craft so do not worry. I live on the east coast as well, in SC. I am impressed with your activism. I used to do the same but have moved away from the spotlight these days. I may speak to a college class once a year or present at SCC but that is the extent of it. You will find that your proirities/perspective, in general, will change somewhat after living as a post op for a period of time. If there is any advice that I can offer this would be it, think carefully about how much of yourself you "broadcast" out into the vast internet. There may come a time when you wish you had not put so much "out there"! Take it for what it''s worth hun... I do wish you all the best, I just love to see other girls that are viberant and sucessful! Warms my heart. I c

New experience with a new endocrinologistI recently visited a new endocrinologist. I am an older TS and have been on oral premarin for 25 years. One of the TS guru docs placed me on it way back then. The new doc changed this prescriptiion and took all sorts of tests. What I am saying is that the endo I am now using is an ordinary endocrinologist. TWenty five years ago and more, this type of doctor would not have taken me and back then I and others were forced to find doctors who were "TS" gurus who were not necessary nice, good and were very expensive. I salute you Jessica and others like you for making this happen. The medical world recognized TS''ism as a treatable condition and good doctors are treating it without hesitation. This is a breakthrough for all of us. A true breakthrough. It only came about because of activism by many like yourself. Elaine

I read your letter on the Dr bowers yahoo group and your website I acknowledge you for doing so much for all of us. I am an older pre-op and Dr Bowers will do my surgery in a year. I salute you for doing all of the speaking and helping so many people. In the past post ops were women of silence. This made being transgendered a nightmare because there was no one to fight for our rights or educate employers. We were like rabbits coming out of one hole only to hide in another. thanks again and one more thing. You are a beautiful woman both outside and inside. Elaine
